History:
First observed on the Gosu mecha in 2044, the Misfit seems to be an attempt to duplicate the performance of the Maggot in a smaller body. In this, the Invid have not met with complete success; the Misfit missiles often are diverted by the targets' ECM, and if they do guide correctly, often fail to make deep impressions with their destructive power.
However, they have a passable record when used to engage Cyclone Infantrymen, although the number of expended missiles versus the number of kills is very modest.
It seems likely that this missile will soon be updated to a new version (with especially better guidance) or will be deleted altogether.
